Internship: Unity Developer

Hello everyone!
Starting in October we are looking for a Unity Dev intern for a mandatory internship to join our team to work on Map Map. The internship should ideally last 4-6 months.

Who we are
We are Pipapo Games, a small, mostly female-lead Indie Studio consisting of four core members. We love unique game concepts and value open communication and creating the best working environment possible for each of our contributors. We are based in Hamburg and Map Map is our debut as a game studio.

What we offer
As a small indie studio, you'll be working closely with the whole team and especially with our lead programmer. You'll be an integral part of development and will complete meaningful tasks that are important to the project. Unfortunately this internship will be unpaid, as our budget as a small indie studio does not allow it at the moment. But this is what we do offer:

  • 4-day work week

  • Flexible working hours

  • Working fully remote (no on-site visits required)

What we are looking for
We are nearing the final stretch of our production phase with Map Map and are looking for support on the programming side of our project. As we are getting closer to release, your main focus will be tackling Polishing & Bugfixing tasks in Unity together with our Lead Programmer. This could include:

  • Playtesting and documenting bugs and improvements

  • Discussing feedback and possible solutions

  • Implementing fixes for bugs

  • Improving UI and tutorials in the game

  • Adjusting features to feel immersive and easy to understand

  • Optimizing performance

The concrete tasks will be adjusted to fit your personal skill set.

About you
Mandatory:

  • You are in need of a mandatory internship for your current studies

  • You feel confident working with Unity in C#

  • You contributed to at least one completed game project (can also be a hobby project!)

  • You are excited about polishing and bug fixing

  • You have solid English communication skills

  • You have experience working in a team and are able to communicate effectively

Bonus points:

  • You love taking initiative

  • You are familiar with Git

  • You have worked on a game in a professional setting before

  • You speak German

  • You like maps and/or cozy games

If this sounds interesting to you, we would love your application! Send it to moin@pipapo.games.
